Billy Buss Quartet
Billy Buss is an award-winning trumpet player, composer, producer, and educator. He has been recognized by DownBeat magazine, the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts, and the White House as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts. He currently sits on the Full-Time Faculty at the world-renowned Berklee College of Music where he has designed curriculum for Brass Technique, Jazz Improvisation and Composition, as well as Explorations in Brass Technology. He is the Co-Director of the Berklee Brass Workshop, a summer program designed to bridge the gap between Classical and Jazz music, for High School aged students internationally. Buss served as the Interim Chair of the Brass Department at Berklee in 2023.
In 2014, he was awarded second place at the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz International Trumpet Competition. Buss maintains a busy performing and teaching schedule throughout the United States and internationally. You can find him performing with his band, B-Squared Jazz Productions, or as a collaborator on a host of projects, ranging from hip-hop and pop to classical and jazz. His debut album, “Scenes from A Dream” was release in 2013 and features all original music. His sophomore release “Paradigm Shift” is slated for release in 2024 in collaboration with the record label, Blue Room Music.SOUND and LATCHI RAÏSA
